HCA Gulf Coast Division is in the midst of making a significant financial commitment to the people of greater Houston and South Texas through hospital expansions and the development of additional service lines.

In 2015, The Woman's Hospital of Texas opened a $26.5 million Pediatric Center to care for children in the Houston Community. The Woman’s Hospital of Texas Pediatric Center expansion included the addition of fourteen Pediatric Intensive Care Unit beds, eighteen Pediatric Medical Surgical beds, and an expansion of the Emergency Department for pediatric patients. 

Pearland Medical Center, a new $71 million facility, recently announced it is partnering with The Woman's Hospital of Texas to bring the same superlative care available at the flagship Texas Medical Center-area hospital to the women of Pearland. 

Texas Orthopedic Hospital's $45 million expansion includes the addition of two stories, renovating the third level, replacing and updating radiology equipment, updating the exterior, converting many rooms to private patient rooms, and preparing a shell for future development.   

Conroe Regional Medical Center's pursuit of a Level II Trauma Designation includes a $9 million operating room expansion and new equipment purchase. The hospital has also joined forces with The Woman's Hospital of Texas to bring top-tier care to women north of Houston.

Similarly, Clear Lake Regional Medical Center's Level II Trauma Designation pursuit has included a $6.5 million purchase of new emergency department and operating room equipment and the development of a new intensive care unit for neurological trauma.

Kingwood Medical Center's addition of outpatient women’s imaging and an interventional radiology lab, replacing its catheterization lab, expanding inpatient rehabilitation, adding 13 private suites, and modifying its pediatric emergency department cost $5.3 million.

West Houston Medical Center completed a $8.6 million, 26 bed, IMCU/CVU unit; a $2.7 million hybrid operating room, and a $2 million emergency room renovation in 2015.   The facility recently received approval for a $16.5 million expansion of the surgery department which will include three new operating rooms, new central sterile and supply area, as well as an expanded pharmacy.

We’ve simplified access to care in the region with new hospitals and additions, expanded emergency departments including freestanding ERs, added inpatient rehabilitation units and upgraded many other areas of service.In the coming years, HCA Gulf Coast Division will continue our investment in providing the best patient care to the people of greater Houston and South Texas.
