Five-star ratings in Ob-Gyn care for 2023

HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division announced today that seven of their hospitals have been recognized as a national leader and 2023 recipients of Healthgrades Award for Excellence in Ob-Gyn Care including Labor & Delivery, Gynecological Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology according to information released by Healthgrades, the leading resource consumers use to find a hospital or doctor. Additionally, eight of their hospitals have been named as a 2023 five-star recipient for Vaginal Delivery, C-Section Delivery, Hysterectomy, and Gynecologic Procedures.  This distinction reflects these hospitals commitment to consistently deliver the best care possible, placing the organization in the upper echelon of hospitals for Ob-Gyn care nationwide.

The aforementioned quality award is based only on the factors that matter most to consumers - patient outcomes. The Healthgrades analysis revealed significant variation in care across the nation’s Ob-Gyn programs, making the ability to choose high-quality care more important than ever.

Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence Award have, on average, a 35% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*

Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award have, on average, a 41.2% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*

Patients treated in hospitals receiving the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award have, on average, a 46.8% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*
