Webster, TX – HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake celebrated 50 years of service to the Houston Bay Area community on Friday, May 13. The celebration coincided with National Hospital Week along with a ribbon-cutting to mark the completion of recent exterior updates to the facility’s Emergency Department.
Clear Lake Area Chamber President and CEO Cindy Harreld-DeWease read a proclamation declaring May 13, 2022 as HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Day. Dewan Clayborn, President and CEO of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce, also addressed the crowd highlighting the hospital’s commitment to the community throughout the years.
HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake opened in March 1972 with 150 beds and has proudly expanded to a 532-bed full-service hospital. The celebration included special recognition of the hospital’s longest-tenured colleague, Mary Hill, who began her career as a unit secretary on July 27, 1972, just four months after the hospital opened.
