Webster, TX — HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake hosted a grand opening celebration to introduce the Women’s Center of Texas City to Galveston County and southeastern Harris County area residents.
As the only women-centered medical clinic in Texas City, the center unveiled the results of a two-year, nearly $100,000 investment to expand services and revamp its health care facility. Open since 2006, the facility underwent cosmetic renovations as well as reinforced its technological resource by now offering 3D imaging, and robotic surgical capabilities.
The center offers gynecological care and comprehensive care before, during, and after pregnancy. Certified nurse practitioners and board-certified OB/GYN’s affiliated with the center are dedicated to providing well-woman exams, mammography, pregnancy tests, prenatal care, lab work, ultrasound, and education on childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting, and assistance with Medicaid and CHIP services when needed.
“Historically, there wasn’t a lot of available resources for women’s health care needs in Texas City, so women had to drive far to get care or not get care at all,” said Dr. Jihad Harmouche, the center’s director and OB/GYN Specialist. “It’s now more of a full-scope women’s practice focused solely on the full spectrum of women’s healthcare.”
