Houston, TX – HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division has announced Laura Griffin, DNP, APRN, CPHQ, ACNP-BC, vice president of nursing practice, as one of Texas Nurses Association’s 2024 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses.
The annual Texas Nurses Association 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses Award recognizes the contributions of registered nurses in Texas who have worked to create a culture of care, played a vital role in supporting health and wellness, contributed to innovation and their communities, and more.
Griffin joined HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division in 2015 and has been in her current role for two years. As vice president of nursing practice, Griffin works collaboratively with division leadership to drive excellence in quality initiatives and patient safety.
“Through my work, I can impact the million patients who entrust us with their care every year,” shares Griffin. “Being a healthcare leader means inspiring our nurses to be the best caregivers they can be.”
Griffin is a transformative leader in nursing development. She identified a critical gap in nursing leadership skills and developed the Nurse Leader On-boarding Program, resulting in a remarkable improvement in the onboarding experience. As the executive sponsor of the Inpatient Leadership Development program, she has successfully equipped nurse leaders with essential skills, leading to significant career advancements and a culture of sustainable leadership.
“Laura’s commitment to excellence and her visionary leadership have positively impacted the nursing profession,” said Michelle Bookout, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division chief nursing executive. “She embodies the spirit of nursing innovation and development and we congratulate her on this prestigious recognition.”
Griffin and the other 2024 Honorees will be recognized during Texas Nurses Association’s Annual Conference at the end of May.
