HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland ranked #1
Houston, TX — Five HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division facilities were recently named among Modern Healthcare’s 2022 Best Places to Work.
HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland earned the coveted #1 ranking in the provider/insurer category, followed by HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division Office ranked #5, Rio Grande Regional Hospital ranked #13, Valley Regional Medical Center ranked #14 and Texas Orthopedic Hospital ranked #39. A total of 150 healthcare organizations, including suppliers were recognized at the Best Places to Work Gala held in Nashville on September 29.
“We are once again honored to have four of our hospitals and the division office named among the Best Places to Work in healthcare,” said Doug Goodman, regional vice president of human resources at HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. “Our leadership teams, colleagues and physicians are united by our mission to care for and improve human life, and we are committed to caring for each other like family. We believe excellent people make excellence happen, and these multiple recognitions reinforce the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts to take great care of our patients and our people.”

Modern Healthcare partnered with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. While this program has evolved over the years, its mission remains the same: recognizing workplaces that empower employees to provide patients and customers the best possible care, products and services.
As the healthcare industry sits squarely on the frontlines of this pandemic, the mission of the Best Places to Work program has only become more important. Healthcare leaders have proven that creating nurturing, supportive workplaces for their most valuable asset, their employees, is vital.
"Employees at healthcare organizations from all sectors of the industry have been the driving force behind the collaboration and effort that led the healthcare industry and the country through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tireless leaders at the organizations we honor with the 2022 Best Places to Work Awards have stood by their employees throughout an extremely challenging time and remained committed to humanizing the patient experience.
They have built and nurtured supportive, engaging, flexible and fun workplaces that meet and exceed the needs of today’s workers. Their success is an inspiration and model for building a more productive, creative healthcare workforce and a better healthcare system in which patients are the ultimate beneficiaries,” said Fawn Lopez, publisher of Modern Healthcare. “We congratulate all of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare for their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of their employees and the communities they serve."
The complete list of this year’s winners was included in a special supplement published by Modern Healthcare in their October 3 issue.
HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division Office ranked #1 in 2021 and is a three-year consecutive-year Best Places to Work recipient since 2020. Rio Grande Regional Medical Center is a consecutive-year winner and Texas Orthopedic Hospital has been named to the list nine years in a row since 2013.
